How Much Does Rihanna’s Pope-Inspired Met Gala Dress Cost?

Met Gala is one of the most anticipated, lavish events in the world – formally known as the Costume Institute Gala. The theme for this year is “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” and its purpose is to raise funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.

A lot of celebrities dressed up to show their sense of fashion. But this year, Rihanna’s Pope-Inspired dress and headpiece reminiscent of the actual papal tiaras captured the attention of many. She basically looked like a female pope from the Vatican.

Her white beaded Margiela corset mini dress – made at the Maison Margiela Atelier in Paris – took about 250 hours to sew and 500 hours to hand-embroider.

Designed by John Galliano, Rihanna’s outfit absolutely nailed this year’s Met Gala theme. She also paired her dress with accessories such as pearl anklet and a bejeweled crucifix necklace.

What is the actual price of Rihanna’s Meta Gala this year?

The brand’s representative refused to answer how much the dress cost. But, a designer gown particularly made for the Met Gala can range from about $4,495 to $35,610.

Rihanna’s previous Met Gala outfits are pretty extravagant. For instance, in 2015 Met Gala’s “China Through The Looking Glass” theme, her yellow gown with a 16-foot train cost around $680,000.

You are really stunning, Riri!
